Kachikwu

The House of Representatives on Monday was thrown into a rowdy session when members tried to debate the new pump price of petrol by asking the minister in charge, Ibe kachikwu to address them on the issue.

Trouble started when a motion was moved by the House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila that Kachikwuthe Minster for Petroleum Resources be admitted into the chambers to address the House.

But some members of the opposition PDP who were obviously unhappy with the development, started waving the Nigerian flag chanting anti-government slogans, while insisting that Kachikwu should not be allowed into the chamber.

After the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, was finally able to restore order, Minority Leader, Leo Ogor moved that the House dissolve into a closed-door session “to resolve pending controversial issues.”

The House then went into executive session.

The House had invited Kachikwu to brief it on the new pump price of N145 recently announced by the federal government.
