KADUNA: Kidnappers whisk away lawmaker, 3 others

A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Isa Salihu, has been abducted by armed gunmen along three other persons on the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road.

The lawmaker who represents Magajin Garin constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area (LGA) at the Kaduna State House of Assembly was kidnapped on Friday while he was on his way to Birnin Gwari from Kaduna.

Police spokesman, ASP Usman Aliyu, on Friday said investigation on the incidence was still ongoing.

A member of the state Assembly, Ismaila Ibrahim, representing Tudun Wada state constituency was also last year kidnapped and later released by his kidnappers.

This week alone, kidnappers are said to have adopted 28 persons with the latest abductions.

Four family members were said to have been kidnapped on Sunday at Kakau village near Kaduna, while another 20, was reportedly abducted at Akilibu village on the same Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

Recall that a Kano State House of Representatives member, Mr. Garba Durbunde, was also recently abducted and released by kidnappers in Kaduna.
