The Kaduna State government Wednesday temporarily relaxed the restriction of movement imposed on the state to check the spread of COVID-19.

In a broadcast to the people of the state, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, said the curfew would be eased from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday to 12midnight on Thursday.

She said the measure is to “enable the people to stock up food and other essentials.’’

‘’Subsequently, the restriction of movement will be lifted every Tuesday and Wednesday. Traders in food and other essentials will open their shops on these two days,” the deputy governor added.

Balarabe, who apologized for the inconvenience the restriction of movement has caused the people of Kaduna, said the decision was taken because of the extraordinary times brought about by COVID-19.

She appealed to the people of the state to still observe social distancing, avoid crowded places and wash their hands regularly.
