Kano Assembly Speaker impeached
Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Atta, was on Monday impeached.
The House immediately elected Alhassan Rurum as the new Speaker to replace Atta.
Rurum was also sworn-in as the new Speaker soon after his colleagues chose him as their new leader.
The House impeached Atta on allegations of corruption, and coming late to plenaries.

He is also accused of not carrying other members of the House along.
