KANO: Early risers wait as election material arrive late

A good number of eligible voters at Magwan polling centre within the Giginyu Ward in the Nasarawa local government area of Kano State are being delayed in exercising their civic rights due to the lateness in the arrival of election materials.

Reports say many voters arrived at the polling centres as early as 7:00 a.m while security personnel trooped in moments later but INEC officials failed to show up with the election materials.

Similarly, security agents and voters were seen apprehensively awaiting the arrival of materials and INEC officials at Tarauni Asibiti polling centre.

Scores of voters at the centre came around 7:56 a.m. with the hope of meeting the electoral officers, but were disappointed at their absence.

Many expressed disappointment with the late arrival of materials and officials at the polling units, and they urged INEC to address the challenge.‎
