Few days after the signing of the Kano Emirs Appointment and Deposition Amendment Bill 2019, the state government has appointed four new Emirs. 

 Aminu Ado Bayero was appointed Emir of Bichi emirate, one of the newly created emirates. 

Also, the government upgraded the  District Heads of Karaye, Rano and Gaya to first class emirs for their respective emirates. 

The State’s Commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba, who made the disclosure, said the new emirs would receive their letters of appointment on Saturday at Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium.

Names of other appointed emirs are: Sarkin Karaye Alhaji Tafida Abubakar ll, Sarkin Gaya Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya and Dr Ibrahim Abubakar ll.

The bill establishing the four additional emirates and four first class emirs in the state was signed on Wednesday by the Kano State governor.

The bill, which was initiated on Monday, passed first reading on Tuesday, and then scaled through second and third reading on Wednesday.
