The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, according to reports, has shunned the second term Inauguration of Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, a move which did not come to many as a surprise.

Expectations were that Muhammadu Sanusi II would have no reason to stay away from the inauguration but his recent face-off with Ganduje over the creation of new Emirates may have forced him to stay away from the event.

Reports say Sanusi who stayed away without any representation may have also decided to shun the inauguration after the state Anti Corruption Commission obtained a court order to effect the arrest of his Chief of Staff, Munir Sanusi Bayero and two others.

All the five Emirs of Bichi, Karaye, Rano, Gaya and Kano were said to have been invited to the swearing-in and inauguration of Governor Ganduje, but as at the time of filing this report, only the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and his Rano counterpart, Dr Abubakar Illa were at the event.
