The Kano State government has moved to publish the pictures of the two remaining patients who went into hiding after testing positive to COVID-19.

This was revealed on Thursday by the Kano State Task Force Committee on COVID-19, which informed that plans are underway to publish the pictures of the two remaining patients who fled after testing positive to the virus.

According to the Coordinator of the state task force, Dr Tijjani Husain, the decision to publish the pictures of the fleeing patients was borne out of effort to ensure that they were arrested and brought to isolation centre for treatment.

The decision came after the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, said Thursday that the Federal Government was on top of the situation in Kano State.

Kano State has been rocked by mysterious mass deaths in the last few weeks.

It had also recorded a spike in COVID-19 incidences with 139 confirmed cases as of Wednesday night.

Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, gave the assurance at the PTF daily briefing in Abuja.

He also appealed to Nigerians who were diagnosed with the coronavirus to cooperate with the relevant agencies and stay at the isolation centres.
