Kano govt records 24 new cases of COVID-19 infections

The Kano State government led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has recorded 24 fresh cases of the dreaded COVID-19 disease which has fast spread across states in the country.

The development was confirmed by the State Ministry of Health in a tweet on Thursday which informed that the current total number of confirmed cases in the state was now 139.

“Update as at 12:05am 30th April 2020; 24 new #COVID19KN cases confirmed. Total confirmed cases in @KanostateNg are now 139.

“2 COVID19KN deaths were recorded. Please respect the #KanoLockdown and #StayAtHome to break the chain of #COVID19 transmission,” the tweed added.

This comes after the Federal Government’s team sent to Kano to shore up efforts at containing the rapid spread of COVID-19 pandemic in that state arrived on Tuesday.

The team, led by Dr. Sani Gwarzo met with state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Abba Anwar, said the team led by Gwarzo met with Ganduje at the Africa House, Government House, Kano.
