KANO GUBER: Police arrests dep Gov, Commissioner

The deputy governor of Kano State, Nasiru Gawuna and the state’s Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sule Garo are both cooling their heels in police custody after they were both nabbed at a collation centre in Kano.

Reports say the pair who were whisked away by men of the Kano State Police Command were arrested over alleged threat to public peace following an altercation between the two of them.

Gawuna and Garo were both involved in a heavy exchange forcing security operatives to step in as they allegedly disrupted the collation of results of the Governorship Elections at the Nasarawa Local Government area Collation Centre.

Reports say both men were saved from being manhandled by supporters of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, at the Centre, with their vicious exchange reported to have delayed the final tally of Kano State governorship race
