KANO: INEC declares 43 of 44 LGAs with PDP leading

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abba Yusuf is leading the incumbent governor of Kano Dr Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressive Congress (APC) after 43 out of 44 Local Government Areas’ results were revealed.

PDP which is leading with a margin of 16,080 votes scored 951,531 votes while APC gained 935,451 votes so far.

Meanwhile, collation of Kano governorship and state assembly election results has been adjourned by INEC for a short while due to the alleged attack at Nasarawa local government area in the early hours of Monday around 1.30am.

This was announced by Presiding Officer Prof. B.B. Shehu and the Resident Electoral Commissioner Prof. Riskuwa Shehu who said that the decision was made after a report came in that the state Deputy Governor, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, Commissioner for Local Government, Sule Garo and Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government, Lamin Sani, allegedly attacked the venue of the results with suspected thugs who attempted to destroy the results.
