KANO: NDLEA nabs 23 suspected drug pushers

NDLEA arraigns Diamond bank managers on money laundering charges

A crackdown by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has led to the arrest of no less than 23 suspected cocaine pushers in Kano State.

According to the State Command of the NDLEA, the arrests were effected within a period of one month following a crackdown on hideouts.

In his comments during the parade of the suspects, the newly-posted Commandant of the Agency, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul, said 20 of the suspects were apprehended in Sabon-Garri area of the state capital.

Alhaji Abdul also revealed that the quantity of seized drugs so far recorded by the command, include a total of 17.1 grams of cocaine, 761.5 kilograms of canabbis , 20 grams of heroine, 182.3 kilograms of tramadol , 76.2 kilograms of codeine,12.5 kilograms of D5 and 10. 4 kilograms of pentazocine.

He promised that the arrested suspects who are now in detention will be prosecuted as soon as investigations were concluded.
