Kano police find body of kidnapped Lebanese engineer

Police Sergeant, kidnapper killed in Anambra gun battle

The remains of an expatriate engineer who was kidnapped while working at a construction site in Kano State three days ago was found by Kano State Police Command on Friday.

The Lebanese national, was abducted by unknown gunmen while his driver was shot dead during the incident.

The Command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, disclosed to journalists that the body of the Lebanese, which was found under Zaria Road Bridge, has since been deposited at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.

He added that the diseased was an employee of Triacta Construction Company and was working on the underpass bridge at Dengi Roundabout by Zoo Road when the incident occurred at about 7:00am on Tuesday.

However, investigations have commenced to determine why he was abducted and killed, while his immediate family members have been contacted for arrangements to convey his body to his home country for burial.

Haruna, also said crack detectives have visited the scene, and that efforts were ongoing to arrest suspects.
