Kano records 1st death from covid-19

Kano State has recorded its first death owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) currently ravaging the world.

The state, also on Wednesday saw confirmed cases of patients infected with the coronavirus disease increase to 21 after it recorded 12 new cases.

The development was confirmed by the Abdullahi Ganduje led government of the state through a tweet the state’s Ministry for Health posted via its official Twitter handle- @KNSMOH.

The tweet read, “Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 11:55 pm, 1 death of #COVID19 has been recorded in @KanostateNg.

“Additional 12 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been announced this evening by the Ministry of Health @KNSMOH. The total number of confirmed positive cases in Kano now stands at 21. #StayAtHomeAndStaySafe.”

The state did not disclose the details of its patient that died of the virus, which originated from Wuhan, China late 2019.
