Contractor behind Ganduje bribe videos offers to testify

The Kano State government led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has confirmed two fresh cases of the novel COVID-19 disease which has claimed no fewer than 86 lives across the country thus far.

The development was confirmed in a tweet on Saturday night by the State Ministry of Health, which noted that the total number of confirmed cases in the State is now 313.

“COVID19KN Update as at 11:58pm 2nd May 2020; 2 new cases of #COVID19Kano cases confirmed.

“Total confirmed cases in @KanostateNg are now 313. #StayAtHomeStaySafe #MaskUpKano,” the tweet by the Kano State Ministry of Health added.

This comes after the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, said on Saturday night that he had secured the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari to relax the 14-day lockdown imposed on the state.

The governor had earlier on Saturday announced the relaxation of the lockdown.

He later made a U-turn and called for full compliance with the presidential directive.
