Kano records 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

The Kano State government has recorded three deaths arising from the infection of the dreaded COVID-19 disease which has fast spread across the country.

This was revealed on Saturday morning, via the Twitter handle of the Kano State Ministry of Health, which also confirmed 92 new cases of COVID-19 in the state.

The three recorded deaths now brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state, to 311.

The information by the Kano State Ministry of Health on Twitter reads thus in detail; “Update as at 11:25pm 1st May 2020. 92 new cases of #COVID19KN cases confirmed.Total confirmed cases in @KanostateNg are now 311.

“3 additional #COVID19KN deaths were recorded. Total #COVID19KN deaths are now 8,” it added.

The update comes hours after a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode described as incredible that the Kano State Governor Abdullahi would be demanding for the relaxation of lockdown in the state.

He said it was amazing for the governor to make such a demand, over Ramadan, when people in Kano State were “still dropping dead like flies”.

Following the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Kano and recent death surge in the state suspected to be due to the dreaded virus, President Muhammadu Buhari, during a national broadcast on Monday, ordered a two-week lockdown of Kano.

However, the governor on Thursday, pleaded with the Federal Government to relax the lockdown especially due to Ramadan, so that the people would restock their food.
