KANO: Supporters of PDP's Yusuf celebrate early lead against APC's Ganduje

Celebration is in the air as supporters of Abba Yusuf, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kano State governorship elections, are jubilating his early lead in the polls.

Reports say supporters of Yusuf took to the streets in celebration when news began to filter in that the party’s candidate had recorded symbolic victories against Governor Abdulahi Ganduje’s All Progressives Congress (APc) in constituencies of his close allies.

Recall that there were apprehensions expressed by voters in the state early on Saturday when sensitive materials required for the election were delivered late to distribution areas.

Reports say as at at 7:41am, on Saturday sensitive materials for areas in Fagge and Nasarawa Local Goverment Areas of Kano State, stacked in boxes were waiting to be distributed as Corps members were seen collecting ballot boxes, papers and INEC branded plastic tables.

The same situation played out during the last presidential and National Assembly polls that a good number of eligible voters at Magwan polling centre within the Giginyu Ward in the Nasarawa local government area of Kano State were delayed in casting their votes due to the lateness in the arrival of election materials.
