Kante scores against former club as Chelsea win at Leicester

French midfielder, N’Golo Kante, scored against his former club Leicester City as Chelsea grabbed all three points with a 2-1 victory at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

The Blues stood firm to see off a late challenger from their visitors to climb into the top three with a third straight victory in the Premier League.

Both sides struggled to find a finishing touch before Alvaro Morata put Chelsea ahead before half-time.

After the break, Kante drilled home low from 30 yards, before a foul by Thibaut Courtois saw Leicester awarded a penalty that Jamie Vardy converted to end the game at 2-1.

Speaking after the game, Kante said, “It is always special to play my old team. I had an amazing year here but when I come I try to win and today was important and I am happy to score.

“It is always a pleasure to score but I keep it inside (his celebration) because I want to respect my old team.

“It was a tough game. They had a lot of chances but we fight and had some chances but we won and that is the most important thing.”

Leicester, down to 17th on the table, have now lost six of their last seven home games against Chelsea.
