Kanu hails ‘fearless’ Eagles after Argentina victory

Former Nigeria international, Nwankwo Kanu has commended the fearless spirit and strong faith with which the Super Eagles stunned Argentina in a friendly match on Tuesday.

The Eagles came from 2-0 down to beat the South American giants 4-2 at the Krasnodar Arena Stadium in Russia — a second victory for Nigeria over the Albicelestes in eight senior meetings since 1994.

Kanu, who played a big role in the Dream Team that defeated Argentina in the Olympic final of Atlanta ’96, believes the Eagles are unstoppable as they head to the World Cup finals in Russia.

“Fear nobody and Believe. Congratulations boys Russia no stopping hahahahaha wonderful game against Argentina,” Kanu tweeted after the game with a photo of Eagles celebrating a goal.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored with a free-kick after Ever Banega and Sergio Aguero had put Argentina into a two-goal lead inside 36 minutes.

Alex Iwobi levelled early in the second half and, after Bryan Idowu had put the Eagles ahead, the Arsenal midfielder made it 4-2 with 18 minutes left.
