Former Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu has revealed he’s a big fan of Gunners youngster and fellow Nigerian Alex Iwobi.

The 20-year-old has made a flying start to his Emirates Stadium career, scoring two goals after a breakthrough in the first-team late on last season.

Kanu was a big success in his days in north London, and is happy to see another Nigerian flying the flag at the club.

The 40-year-old is set to pull on the famous red and white again this weekend in a charity legends match against AC Milan, and heaped praise on Iwobi when asked about him in a Q&A on the club’s Twitter page.

‘I’m so proud of him. He’s been great,’ Kanu said when asked by a fan about Iwobi’s performances.

Kanu won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups at Arsenal, and remains much-loved by fans for his laid-back playing style and flair.
