Kanu’s IPOB withdraws threat to boycott Anambra election

Again, Kanu absent at trial as Court adjourns case

The cloud of uncertainty that has trailed preparation for the conduct of Anambra gubernatorial poll in November, following calls for boycott by the Indigenous People of Biafra ((IPOB), may have been erased.

This followed a reported promise by leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu to withdraw the threat to stop the conduct of the November 18 governorship election.

The decision was said to have been reached during a meeting between the Ala-Igbo International Foundation and the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Speaking on Friday, leader of the foundation, Uzodinma Nwala, said, “After much deliberation, IPOB has assured us that it won’t disrupt the November 18 governorship election.

“We have jointly told people who are eligible to vote to go out and exercise their franchise without fear of molestation.”

Kanu at the meeting, also said that his group is not violent and that they are law abiding citizens of the society.

He said at the meeting that he had to honour the invitation for the respect he has for Igbo elders.

“I came because of my respect for elders. IPOB is not a violent group. We are law abiding citizens of the society. What we reached at here today will guide us in the issue of Anambra election. I will go and meet with the leadership of IPOB,” he said.

It is not clear if Kanu’s shift in position also marks a beginning of change in tactics towards his agitation for a separate state of Biafra.

I’m really still wondering how IPOB’s threat would have stopped the election. It would only make it easy for APC to claim the state. They should stop begging this Kanu fellow, if he likes , he should tell his people to boycott the election. Na dem sabi.

Once we hear from Kanu himself directly, we’ll know what to do. This is still media report, Nigerian reporters are liars, Biafrans cannot trust them until our leader confirms it factual

Biafra has failed yet again! There’s nothing like Biafra, everyone agitating for it should just give up and seek how Nigeria will become a better place for all to live in. There’s no point wasting their time on failed mission

Reality is dawning on kanu and his incorrigible supporters. Accept fate and remain part of Nigeria for life
