Kashamu settles with Obj

Published

on

Senator representing Ogun-East, Buruji Kashamu says he has withdrawn the N20.1 billion libel suit he instituted against former President Olusegun Obasanjo based on “an ongoing settlement talks”.

But the lawyers representing the former president in the suit said they were not aware of such talks, between Kashamu and the former president.

It was learnt that the presiding judge, Justice Valentine Ashi, of a Federal Capital Territory court in Abuja struck out the suit on May 26, 2015, following the notice of discontinuance of the suit filed by the Kashamu.

It would be recalled that Kashamu had instituted the suit against Obasanjo whom he accused of referring to him as a criminal in a letter to then President Goodluck Jonathan.
