KATSINA: APC’s Masari takes early lead, clinches 3 LGAs announced by INEC

Gov Masari admonishes colleagues on security matters

The incumbent governor of Katsina State, Mr Aminu Masari has taken an early lead in the race to occupy the state government house following results so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The poll outcome released thus far by INEC reveals that Governor Masari a candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has won in all three local government areas in the state.

According to results announced by INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof Abdullahi Zuru, the APC candidate who is seeking re-election for another term of four years, scored 22,482 votes in Dutsi Local Government Area, while the Peoples Democratic Party candidate Senator Yakubu Lado-Danmarke came second with 10,564 votes.

Other results announced by INEC shows that Masari got 28,253 votes while Lado-Danmarke scored 10,327 votes in Matazu LGA, with the APC also winning in Sandamu LG with 32,193 votes and the PDP, 11,912 votes.
