KATSINA: Court disqualifies another APC House of Reps member-elect

Another All Progressive congress (APC) House of Representatives member has been sacked over issues relating to the party primaries.

This is coming after a court also disqualified a Kano APC Reps member-elect.

The Federal High Court sitting in Katsina on Thursday sacked the member representing Bakori/ Danja Amiru Tukur Idris.

Justice Hadiza Shagari in her ruling said all the 7 relief sought by the applicant, Engr Yakubu Nuhu Danja have been granted.

According to her, the substitution of the plaintiff’s name with that of Amiru Tukur, who is the second defendant in the case, remained null and void.

“The relief sought by the plaintiff are hereby granted and the originating summons succeed,” She added

Engr Yakubu had approached the court seeking for justice when his name was replaced by the All Progressive Congress APC party as winner in the just held primaries of the party.

At the primaries, Yakubu polled 314 votes to defeat the incumbent Tukur with 305 votes and was announced winner at the constituency only for his name to be replaced when being submitted to INEC by the party.

Some of the prayers sought at the court include an order setting aside the nomination or substitution as well as declaring him as winner having secured the highest votes at the primaries subsists.
