Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, Saturday ordered the total lock down of Ingawa local government area of the state over rising cases of COVID-19 in the area.

The Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Inuwa, who disclosed this to journalists, said the governor gave the directive after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed that some persons in the area had tested positive for the disease.

The lockdown, according to him, takes effect from Sunday.

Inuwa urged residents of the area to stay at home adding that security agents would be deployed to ensure total compliance with the directive.
