KEBBI: Court remands 14 persons in prison for dancing nude

65-yr-old man and his 19-yr-old accomplice arrested for raping 9-yr-old girl

No less than 14 persons are now cooling their heels in police net after a court in Kebbi ordered their detention for dancing naked with girls.

During a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State, presided over by Halima Abubakar, the dancers were charged for criminal conspiracy.

The accused persons comprising nine boys and five girls were also charged for mischief causing assault, public nuisance, causing hurt and grievances contrary to sections 97, 183, 327, 266 and 246 of the Penal Code.

While addressing the court, the prosecutor,Yakub Goge,informed that the accused persons attacked them with cutlasses, damaged their patrol vehicles and wounded few of them who were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

The prosecutor said the suspects who were alleged to be taking substances suspected to be hard drugs were caught by men of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Kebbi State chapter under a bridge with generators and musical gadgets.

Before adjourning the case for further hearing, the presiding judge in her ruling ordered that the accused persons be remanded in police custody.
