The wife of the governor if Kebbi State, Dr Zainab Abubakar Bagudu met with members of the Market Women’s Association with regards to the inferno that occurred over the weekend in Birnin Kebbi.
While commiserating with women and family members of the market stall owners, she appealed to them to exercise patience towards the committee that was setup by the State Government to find the cause of the fire outbreak.
The wife of the governor who supported the women with food items which included bags of rice, stated that the committee is also to implement resettlement strategies and also create preventive measures against such outbreaks in the future.
After listening to the plights and fears of the association, Dr. Zainab assured the women that she will ensure representation within the committee by women marketers.
The Chairman of the Market Traders Association, Alhaji Umaru Gwadangwaji commended Dr. Zainab, the Governor and state government officials on their prompt response and quick setup of the committee.
