After prison life, Kemi Olunloyo now sober, sets journalism aside

If news reaching RIPPLES NIGERIA is anything to go by, then embattled media personality Kemi Olunloyo may be freed today from Port Harcourt prison after fulfilling her bail conditions.

However, reports say Kemi will be in court for further hearing of her case on the 3rd of May and before her bail form was signed, the Judge hearing the law suit against her demanded for her international passport.

The daughter of a former governor of Oyo State who was whisked away by men of the Nigerian police Force who stormed her Ibadan home to pick her up on the 14th of March, has been in jail for close to two months now.

Kemi was arrested and jailed after she published an article on her blog accusing General Overseer of Salvation Ministries Pastor David Ibiyeomie of infidelity.

The investigative journalist was arrested after Pastor Ibiyeomie petitioned the police claiming that she (Kemi) criminally defamed him by posting an article on her blog claiming he is an adulterer, a claim he said defamed his character.

On the 11th of April, a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt granted the Kemi bail in the sum of N1million but her bail conditions were not perfected until recently.
