Kenneth Okonkwo wants to achieve a Nollywood dream in Enugu Govt House

Veteran Nollywood actor Kenneth Okonkwo hours ago declared his intention to run as a candidate in the next Enugu state governorship election under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The thespian who is popularly known for his role in the movie ‘Living in Bondage’ has also stated one of the reasons he is gunning to become the next governor of Enugu State.

“It’s time for Nollywood to produce an Executive to fulfil our Nollywood dreams,” he wrote on his Instagram page.

“I just declared my intention to contest for the Governorship candidate of APC in Enugu State. It was heart-warming to receive the blessings of the immediate past Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Governor Sullivan Chime. To God be the glory,” he added.

Just like Kenneth, another Nollywood actor Yul Edochie hinted in the month of January this year that he may run for presidency come 2019 two months after he lost out to Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in his bid to become governor of Anambra State.

The son of veteran actor Pete Edochie made his intention public when he shared a video on Instagram as he turned 36 on January 7th, 2018, saying “I may just run for presidency in 2019 and I’ll win.”

Yul polled I45 votes to emerge 19 out of 37 contenders that jostled for the governorship stool last November according to final results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
