The three Chinese miners kidnapped on a mining site in Ifewara area, Ife East local government of Osun State, have regained their freedom after one week in captivity.

The Chinese miners were captured on February 1, while their police escort was killed.

Ripples Nigeria gathered that their captors demanded N500 million in exchange for their freedom, however, the police said no ransom was paid.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, Yemisi Opalola, the police spokesperson in Osun, said the Chinese miners were released on Sunday adding that no arrest have been made.
