Kidnapped House of Reps member regains freedom

The kidnapped member of the House of Representatives, representing Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency, Garba Durbunde, Kano State, has been released by his abductors on Wednesday.

The lawmaker who was reportedly whisked away by unknown gunmen while on his way to Kano, was released around Abuja-Jere
axis of the Abuja-Kaduna Highway, the same area he was abducted.

Durbunde is a political friend of Kano’s former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and was a Commissioner for Rural and Community Development after a stint at the Kano House of Assembly.
