Kidnapped Romanian Engineer, others regain freedom

The kidnapped Romanian Engineer, Mr. Nedeclu Christian and two Nigerians in his official team have regained their freedom after about 72 hours in the custody of their abductors
Nedeclu, 52 and his Nigerian colleagues were abducted by gunmen last Sunday at Railway Village in Owa-Oyibo, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The victims are staffers of construction giants, Julius Berger attached to the company’s operational base at Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming the release yesterday Public Relations Officer of the state police command, SP Celestina Kalu said the victims were freed as a result of pressure on the abductors by security operatives.

Kalu stated that the victims were released at about 5:30pm when security operatives combing the bushes were already closing-in on the bandits’ hideout.
