Kidnappers collect N25m ransom, kill Taraba lawmaker

Body of a lawmaker representing Takum I in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Hosea Ibi, has been discovered in a bush at Kwari village on the borders of Benue State.

Ibi was abducted on December 30, 2017 by some gunmen in Takum Local Government Area.

He was kidnapped about 9:30p.m. from his mother’s compound at Korota II in Takum and taken to unknown destination where was held hostage.

A member of the state Assembly close to the deceased told New Telegraph correspondent that relations and friends of the lawmaker had been negotiating with the kidnappers with the view to securing his release.

He added that the kidnappers had collected N25 million ransom from Ibi’s friends and relatives with a promise to release him on Sunday.
