Klopp admits Liverpool's inconsistent form, confident against Arsenal

Ahead of the weekend match between Liverpool and Arsenal in the English Premier League, Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp said his team must address their inconsistent performances and right their wrongs as they prepare to face the Gunners.

The Reds, who won Arsenal 4-3 at the Emirates on the opening day of the season, lost 3-1 to champions Leicester on Monday; but can move above Arsenal into the top four this Saturday if they beat them.

The German football manager and former Borussia Dortmund coach spoke to the media in his Friday’s press conference ahead of the Premier League clash.

“We have this lack of consistency, we cannot ignore it,” Klopp said.

“We’ve already had a few bad moments together. It doesn’t feel that free-flowing any more, but that’s how seasons are.

“We are now in the middle of the season, and we thought it makes sense to try to deliver again on Saturday.”

Klopp did confirm that club captain Jordan Henderson will not be fit to face Arsenal at Anfield.

The England international missed the 3-1 defeat to Leicester on Monday night with a foot injury and Klopp said he will miss the Saturday evening clash with the Gunners.

And when asked why he (Klopp) is so relaxed ahead of a big game and what he will do to motivate his players against Arsenal, he replied: “I’m not a clown, I’m not always laughing like crazy. I’m a normal person. My job is to make the players feel there’s a big chance to win it.”
