Klopp: I can’t promise top four for Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he cannot promise his side will finish in the top four after thumping Manchester City 4-1 at the Eithad Stadium at the weekend.
The victory lifted Liverpool into ninth in the Premier League table, just six points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal and eight behind surprise leader leaders Leicester City.
However, Klopp was unwilling to be drawn on his side’s top-four chance and insists the club still have a lot of hard work ahead of them.
“We have to be very careful. If something serious happens [to his players] then we have a big problem. We have to work, that’s all,” he told reporters.

“Somebody asks us if we can go to the top then it’s not my problem. I don’t think that way. The money is in the Champions League but I can’t promise it now. It’s hard work.
“They changed the manager here. It wasn’t because of the weather and it wasn’t a problem with Brendan Rodgers because he is a brilliant manager. But they had to change something.
“Only two weeks ago we lost to [Crystal] Palace. I can’t say that we are good enough but if you want to write it you can.”
