Knife-wielding man kills 1, injures 3 at German bus station
A knife-wielding 27-year-old German attacked and killed one man and injured three others on Tuesday at the Grafing train station near Munich.
German police are now investigating a possible Islamist connection after the attack of four commuters shortly before 05:00 (03:00 GMT).
The knife-wielding man whose stabbing led to the death of one of his victims was however overpowered and arrested by police in Munich.
Some witnesses said he shouted “Allahu akbar” (“God is great” in Arabic) but the motive for the attack is still unclear.
The suspect has been identified as a 27-year-old German national, apparently from the Hessen area of central Germany.
Police spokesman Karl-Heinz Segerer told German television that the man “expressed political motivations” during the attack. He gave no details, saying it was a matter for the investigation.
