Koffi Olomide lands in court for assault on female band member
Few days after he was deported from Kenya after he assaulted one of his female dancers at the JKIA Airport in Nairobi, Congolese Rumba maestro, Koffi Olomide has been arrested at his home in Kinshasa, DRC, following an order issued by a local court.
As a result of the episode, Olomide’s show which was scheduled to take place at the premises of Zambia’s Agricultural and Commercial Society has been cancelled as footage of the incident is now causing massive outcry on social media.
Olomide has however apologised following the unfortunate incident as he took to his Facebook page to plead to his fans, especially “women and children”, asking for forgiveness.
“I profoundly regret what happened… it was a moment of madness,” Olomide told Congolese national broadcaster RTNC, in an interview attached to the Facebook post.
