Koffi Olomide returns home after being released on bail
Congolese Rhumba maestro Koffi Olomide has returned home to his family five days after he was arrested and sentenced to a year in prison without an option of fine by a local court in Kinshasa after assaulting his female band member at the JKIA Airpor in Nairobi, Kenya.
Olomide who was later deported by Kenyan authorities for his action and moved to the Makala prison in Kinshasa to begin serving his sentence which commenced almost immediately after the court passed the judgement, has been released from detention on bail.
Confirming the development, Olomide shared a message with his fans on Facebook backed with photos of him with his family.
“At Home with family…Thank you is a word too simple. What I would like to express is above it. I am both touched and grateful for the unwavering support that you have brought me, I can never thank you enough”. He wrote.
