KOGI GUBER: Yahaya Bello picks Chief of Staff, Onoja as running mate

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has chosen his chief of staff, Edward Onoja, as running mate for the November 16 governorship election.

An aide to the governor told TheCable that Bello submitted Onoja’s name to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during his trip to Abuja earlier in the week.

“The chief of staff is the running mate of His Excellency in the forthcoming election. An official announcement would be made soon.

“Mr Onoja’s name was submitted to the national working committee of the party when His Excellency visited the party headquarters on Thursday,” the governor’s aide said.

Governor Bello emerged the candidate of All Progressives Congress at the party’s primary on 29th August.

He won the party’s primary with 3,127 out of 3,596 votes cast by the party delegates.

A total of 3,596 delegates out of 3,838, were accredited for the primary. Also, ten aspirants were cleared by the APC national working committee to contest in the election.
