Kogi N200m scandal: I’m open to speakership, says defecting lawmaker
The member representing Lokoja II state constituency, in Kogi State House of Assembly, Idris Ndakwo, who on Tuesday defected from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to All Progressives Congress, APC, said yesterday he was open to the speakership position of the House, if his colleagues find him worthy.
Ndakwo’s defection had continued to fuel rumour of him being favoured to replace the embattled Speaker, Kolawole Matthew, who is currently embroiled in a N200 million scandal.
The lawmaker, who spoke to Vanguard in Lokoja, yesterday, said he will not close his eyes to the position if it came his way, noting that “I am open to the speakership, if my colleagues find me worthy, though that is not the reason I decamped to APC.
