Kogi State police identifies murderer of businessman, Nicholas Ofodile

The Kogi State police has identified the killer of Kogi State-based businessman, Nicholas Ofodile, who was assassinated last month along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ede Ayuba, made the revelation while parading a 28-man gang led by Vincent Omogor at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja on Wednesday, July 29.

Speaking on the arrest, Ayuba noted that the suspect was rounded up by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives in collaboration with vigilantes in Orehi, Kogi Local Government Area of the State.

The police command stated that the businessman was murdered by assassins hired by a business associate after seeking for financial assistance that was not met by the deceased.

Confessing to the police, the suspect revealed that he was commissioned by the deceased’s business associate, who was aggrieved by the failure of the late Nicholas to assist him financially when his father was sick.

The suspect further explained that he killed the businessman while plying the Abuja-Lokoja highway, information he got from his associate.
