Kuwait jumps into Mideast crisis, severs ties with Iran

The latest episode of the mideast diplomatic crisis which has boiled over has seen Kuwait recall its ambassador from Tehran, the Iranian capital.‎

The move by Kuwait comes after several regional allies stepped up diplomatic pressure on Iran in its row with Saudi Arabia following the execution of a prominent religious leader in Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain, Sudan and the UAE have rallied to Saudi Arabia’s side, breaking off or downgrading relations with Iran in recent days.

Meanwhile, Iran has accused Saudi Arabia of using the attack on its embassy in Tehran as a pretext to fuel tensions in the region following the execution of Nimr al-Nimr and 46 others.
