2019: Kwankwaso soon to join Atiku in dumping APC

Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso has stated, that at no time was he placed under house arrest, or that he was afraid to come out of his house for fear of being arrested by the EFCC as insinuated in the media.

He also denied ever being invited by the anti-graft agency over any allegation bordering on fraud.

The former governor, now senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, who was reacting to reports that he has been holed up in his house over fear of being arrested by the anti-graft commission, said he was neither invited by the EFCC nor was he ever placed under house arrest or prevented from discharging his legislative or personal duties by any agency.

While acknowledging a legal suit instituted by some of his supporters and their lawyers against the EFCC, Kwankwaso said he has instructed them to discontinue the matter with immediate effect, while an unfounded libelous case against some petitioners from his state will continue.

He pledged his commitment as a legislator to support and strengthen anti-graft agencies in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

A statement signed by Muhammed Inuwa Ali, his Principal Private Secretary said, “The supporters sought the Senator’s permission to institute legal action against the said petitioners to which he consented. “However, to the Senator’s surprise, the supporters and their lawyers instituted an action against the EFCC.

“Conversely, Senator Kwankwaso has instructed his supporters and their lawyers to discontinue the matter against the EFCC with immediate effect, while the unfounded libelous case against his person will continue”.
