Kwara United unveiled 17 new players in Ilorin on Thursday ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The new additions will join 18 returning players for the upcoming campaign.

Among the new signings are Ifeanyi Ogba, a former Rangers International forward; Oyeleso Suraj, a veteran NPFL goalkeeper from Plateau United; and Akani Akeem from Sporting Lagos, all of whom have joined the Harmony Boys.

During the unveiling ceremony held at the multimillion-naira Sugar Film Factory in Ilorin, Kwara United General Manager, Bashir Badawy, who represented club chairman Kumbi Titiloye, emphasized the rigorous recruitment process.

“We scouted talent through tours in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa states to find the right mix of players for the new season,” Badawy stated.

“As you can see, we’ve brought together a balanced team with both young and experienced players.”

Highlighting the club’s performance data from various tournaments across the three states, Badawy reassured that Kwara United remains a strong contender.

“We concede very few goals and have defeated high-ranking teams, including Al Merikkh of Sudan, a continental powerhouse. With more training days ahead, our squad will be fully prepared to give their best when the league kicks off,” he added.
