La Liga seeks to stage Barcelona vs Atletico in Miami

The Spanish top flight, La Liga, is looking to have the tie between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid played in Miami, USA.

The league officials are hopeful that world football governing body, FIFA will approve of the plan.

It would be the first time a La Liga match has been played in the United States, but it is dependent on Fifa’s decision on the proposal.

The match is currently scheduled for 22 December, before the Spanish league pauses for its winter break.

Meanwhile, both Atletico and Barcelona are scheduled to play in a four-team Spanish Super Cup in early January, which is being held in Saudi Arabia.
