Lagos govt dismisses reports of curfew in the state

The Lagos State Government Saturday dismissed claims that it had imposed a curfew in the state due to the growing cases of coronavirus in Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre.

Lagos has been described as the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic with over 50 confirmed cases since February 17 when the index case was discovered.

Nigeria currently has 89 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Social media had been awash with reports that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had imposed a curfew on the state between 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. effective Sunday.

However, the government on its social media platforms, dismissed the claims as ordinary rumour.
