Lagos hotelier gunned down over woman
A group of unknown gunmen who pretended to be lodgers according to reports shot and killed, Michael Ogunnusi, the owner of Allonze Hotel located in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The assassins reportedly tied up the security guard stationed at the hotel and later made for the hotel room of the victim where he was shot severally.
Sources say the reason behind the attack was because Michael was alleged to be dating the wife of the leader of the assassin’s who stormed the hotel in a car.
According to an eyewitness, the assassins who were four in number pretended to be lodgers by booking separate rooms before they struck.
“While one was in the car, three went in on a motorcycle, pretending to be customers; they got separate rooms to stay. However, no sooner than they got their keys that they went to the man’s room. One knocked at his door as if he was one of the hotel workers. As he opened the door, they opened gunfire on him.”
An inside source revealed that Michael was killed for dating the wife of the leader of the gunmen who claimed his life to prove a point.
“He was dating a woman that was the wife of the suspects’ leader. On the night that he was killed, he was with the woman who was later arrested by the police after the incident, ” the source said.
Damasus Ozoani, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident revealed that the four suspects have been apprehended.
“The case has been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Panti,” he added.
