Lagos Taskforce arrests 123 men, bikes from Jigawa

No fewer than 123 men were arrested with 48 motorcycles in a truck intercepted by Lagos State government on Friday.

The truck was allegedly coming from Jigawa State.

It was gathered that the truck was apprehended by the Lagos State Environment Sanitation and Special Offenses Taskforce.

The state government revealed that the truck was seized following a tip-off by members of the public who raised security concern about the manner with which the occupants of the truck conducted themselves.

Speaking during their parade in Lagos, one of the suspects Shuaibu Haruna, said he left Jigawa State to work in Lagos with his motorcycle.

He said he was a married man with a wife and a son who wanted to source for greener pasture in Lagos.

Meanwhile, the official twitter handle of Lagos State had it that the arrest of the suspects was coordinated by the commissioner for the environment and water resources, Mr Tunji Bello and his counterpart, Dr Abimbola Oladehinde.
