LAND TUSSLE: Mother, son arrested in Enugu over death of younger sibling

An incident which occurred in the Ohodo community in Igboetiti Local Government Area of Enugu State which saw a man kill his younger sibling over a land tussle has landed two people in police net.

Reports say the assailant, Romanus Asogwa who hacked his brother Fidelis Asogwa to death when he hit him with a plank in the head is now cooling his heels in police net with his mother.

Trouble started at a family meeting convened by their mother, Mrs. Theresa Asogwa when the pair had a war of words concerning a piece of land which later degenerated into a fight.

The squabble saw Romanus hit his brother Fidelis with a plank in the head which left him unconscious and after efforts to revive him failed, he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

According to Ebere Amaraizu, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident, the body of the deceased has been deposited at a mortuary in the community while he also stated that Romanus and his mother are helping the Police’s investigation.
