Lanre Gentry begs Mercy Aigbe to drop battery case, reports say

If reports reaching RIPPLES NIGERIA are anything to go by, then Lagos hotelier, Lanre Gentry may just have realised the critical situation he is faced with in respect to the court case he is facing with his estranged wife, Mercy Aigbe.

Sources say Lanre is determined to mend fences with Mercy as he has reportedly met with family members of his estranged wife in company of his family members to end the feud between them and convince her (Mercy) to drop battery charges against him.

Recall that on July 8, the trial involving Mercy and Lanre Gentry was adjourned till June 28, 2017 following the absence of the Nollywood actress.

The trail which was scheduled for hearing at an Ogba Magistrates’ Court was stalled due to Mercy’s absence, though; the fair skinned thespian arrived the court late and hurriedly proceeded into the chamber of Chief Magistrate Mrs. Folakemi Davies- Abegunde where she obtained the date of adjournment in the case with her hubby who reportedly arrived the courtroom as early as 9am.

The Lagos State Government has also taken up the case after it wrote a letter to the Nigerian Police, demanding that it forward the duplicate of the case file on alleged assault on the actress.

Reports say LASG wrote the Police, sequel to the result of the medical check-up conducted on the actress in Nigeria and in the UK that indicated alleged assault by her husband.

Lanre could face up to three years in prison if found guilty of the charges leveled against him by the Lagos magistrate court.
